We know from years of feedback from readers, customers and amazon sellers, what most people want in a convenient and appropriate extension. The dewalt 1 inch drive extension is exactly that - it's a simple extension that hits all the right notes. It allows users to not only drive with 1 screw driving bits, but accept all hex-shank accessories. It features makes it easy to change accessories on the job. It is compatible with existing drill bits, and reach tight and hard-to-reach spaces. The extension also has a magnetic tip that securely holds the drill bit in place, eliminating any slipping or wobbling during use.
The locking mechanism works well, doesn't get caught up when hung into holes of ladders and release if engaged while accidentally pulling them out from the ladder as some other brands do. The extension is also impact ready, meaning it can withstand the high torque of an impact driver.
Why We Like This:
Excellent bit extender, will follow into hole as small as 1/

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention eagle tool us 1 inch drive extension for daily usage. This tool works great with a 1/4" drive auger bit. It is pretty rigid so shouldn’t veer off too easily. The set screws in the bit-holding end (which is itself taking 1/4" hex bits) need an SAE 1/8 Allen key, although it's a bit sloppy at that size.
This has a 1/2" auger style drill bit and is 54" long. It will bounce around on the floor. The diameter of the chuck is approximately 5/8 of an inch. This stiffened the assembly and works very well. It is perfect for installing wire for recessed led downlights.
Why We Like This:
Three flat non-slip grip on the chuck end
Flexible enough to get through 3 16" on center joists without getting too high

Compared with other extension in this category, the milwaukee 1 inch drive extension has a convenient design. This extension looks well made and works well with milwaukee auger bits. It fits most drill bits. The ball clamp is designed to grasp bits with a matching groove cut in the hex shank. The shaft is precisely 1/2" in diameter, and the end is hex shaped and slightly smaller than 1/. These work great for drilling holes for wires on walls or ceilings. It's fairly thin up at the quick lock section and hardened as well as thin as 1/.
These are much, much easier and faster than the set screw type.
Why We Like This:
Makes working a hole saw much easier
Holds up much better than the irwin extensions
Need for allen wrenches or chuck keys
Great time saver when using a drill with a key chuck

It is good for that deeper hole for some plants. It comes in a nice twist container sleeve for storage. This is a simple piece of stainless steel.
