The inner edge of the derailleur hits the center chain ring, preventing the derailleur from traveling far enough to center on the large chain ring. They have a double and triple chainring version. It has positions between the numbers and on either side of the numbers. They're narrow in the vertical axis, meaning it takes fine adjustment in that axis to keep them from making contact.
The movement distance is adjustable via tiny set screws. It would barely reach the large chainring with the adjustment screw backed all the way off and the cable extremely tight. The structure is riveted together. It is compatible with 50t chainring. It is made for a bike with two front sprockets/gears.
