These classical pieces are longer and more fun than the level 1-2 book, and are a good seque into more famous classical pieces a student may like to get into. This Book/CD combination is hard to beat for someone who wants to start playing classical music from the get-go, rather than a lot of children's songs or folk songs. It includes scores in an easy to read format for 29 simple compositions, from baroque to the 20th century. It is superior to a scenic train ride.
These simple short works are compositions written by composers of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. It includes each of these pieces, is well played and nicely recorded. It is great for a 10 year old 3 years piano. It starts out with very easy pieces. The 3 masterwork classic level should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. One of the best things about these books is they have music from all four periods of music. It is mid-intermediate in level. The selection is varied and includes lyrical and technical repertoire and all will appeal to an advanced highschooler looking to break out into challenging repertoire as well as an advanced adult.
This book is special in that all the repertoire is at the same level and the choice of pieces is superior. The book has a very nice variety of music for the late intermediate student. There is some syncopation but mostly the rhythms are 8th and 16th notes.Why We Like This:
