Gears of War is still a lot of fun and thanks to this excellent remaster, it feels as fresh and exciting as when it is first released. It includes a full game of the original gears of war remastered in 1080p. The online holds up beautifully, running at a solid 60fps with no hiccups. The sound has really improved for all the game, explosions, shooting, background noise and voice acting.
This is a great game and replaying it again with todays graphics is amazing. The game has many different weapon skins available through DLC. This is a great way to get up to speed or reacquainted with the story in anticipation of Gears 4 next year.Why We Like This:

The xbox 4 xbox series x gear is suitable and reliable and fits well with your daily purpose. If you've never played a tactics game before, it may take some time to adjust, but it's just a great tactics game overall regardless of the Gears universe. The game is very technical but easy to pick up and jump in the action right away. It is easy to pick up for a beginner to turn based game.
The combat starts out basic and is easy to pick up but when you start unlocking new abilities, passives, and weapon mods it gets really deep and fun. Each character in your squad also gets upgrade points to work towards a pretty good sized skill tree that will give them abilities to change the tide of fights.
The game has the same Gears vibe as the shooters, and the graphics and sounds are absolutely excellent. Theres a lot of new enemies being added throughout the chapters so it keeps everything fresh, but the missions are for the most part very similar and repetitive. This is a great spin-off to the Gears franchise.Why We Like This:
