3M water solution is the epitome of what a great film should be. They are a cost effective alternative to 3M's Paint Defender Strips. It provides a clear coated urethane measure of protection. This helps for getting out bubbles before curving the tape around the door edge and smoothing the tape to the edge itself. On the positive side, the film is easy to apply, just make sure to clean surfaces first.

The strips come in clear and are very easy to apply as long as you follow the instructions. These are clear so any imperfections will be seen. It does not protect you from dents or door dings from other cars.

It works well in small patches and flat surfaces. The adhesive is very strong, and takes a good amount of force to pull off, but DOES come off easily. It is great for front protection, even, a few side spots.

It is very good for protection against stone chips and abrasions.

The material is brittle, so it doesn't bend/form very well, but that does make it easier to cut since you can lightly score it and then just snap/pull it apart.
