The theory book teaches music notation which is used along side a lesson book, recital book and a technic book. It explains concepts clearly, gives good opportunities for practicing those concepts, and presents them all in a fun way. The 1A level makes sure that students are playing a song within the first lesson. It is very clear, and each book tells you when to introduce the next piece/pieces in each book based on where you are in the lesson book. They are 7 and 9 and this book is easy enough for them to follow. It's a great book with pretty pictures and clear instructions.
