It easily slides on and locks into place with a screw. This comes with the inner plastic piece that slips over the stub of 1/2" copper pipe that sticks out from the wall. It has a allen-head screw on the bottom to tighten once the plastic insert with o-ring slides over your 1/2 pipe. It is perfectly and the o-ring forms a leak-proof seal.

It's made of steel and the diverter seals quite well. This spout requires a copper pipe connection. It is the entire faucet, including the inner workings of the spout.
This spout requires a minimum 1/2" pipe length of 1 1/2" so it will work with your plumbing. It will fit on a pipe with 3/4 inch in diameter. The spout requires a minimum of 1” pipe nipple to slid on to, and set screw tightened from the bottom of the spout.
