The ART Pro-Channel Microphone Preamp/Compressor/EQ works extremely well in this challenging situation. This is a mic pre-amp and DI box with a compressor and EQ section. The instructions are well organized and clear. You can plug this straight into your interface, and it has a decent tube preamp built in. The compressor is pretty transparent, but if you use it right and not overdo it, it will help much more than just an interface to bring out clarity and punch to your vocals.
