If you often find yourself scrambling for convenient and suitable level, willard palmer b prep course level is your end point. Alfred's Basic Piano Prep Course is so effective in teaching the younger student. It teaches them good beginning skills and moves at a good pace. They don’t make it easy to just buy the level 1 that begins with basic notes, timing and other beginner skills. It is great for very young learner.
The songs are fun, with most of them being pleasant, and the instruction on basic concepts (staccato, thirds, etc) are both descriptive and visual to ensure understanding. It is great for kids learning piano. They also pair well with the suggested songs in the Solo Book. It's a very easy-going book.
