The guosu barbed wire grip's material feels more premium than its price would suggest. This puller has a spring tensioner which allows for easy one person setup. It works great to pull the cable tight. The more tension applied to the handle (usually with a come-a-long in line with the cable) the tighter the shoe squeezes the cable against the frame. It is used to tension several 3/16” tension cables for a chain link fence. The keeper latch is kinda hokey but works. It is suitable for all kinds of steel cables and cables. The cable puller works excellent once you put a little tension on it and doesn't slip any. It is easy to slip and deform.

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention maasdam barbed wire grip for daily usage. The fence wire grip is a metallic specialty fastener and also shields and protects hands from barbed wire, has a cam action to ensure a tight lock, is durable, and easy to use. It works great when used to tighten barbed wire, non-barbed wire, smooth wire, chain, chain link, and cables up to 5/16 inches in length. It can be used with the size of the rope you're trying to pull.
This wire is harder than standard barbed wire and tends to slip in the wire grip's jaw. It works well on a single wire or cable. It would be nice if the jaw teeth were a little bit sharper to bite into the run strands on anti-walk-down fencing. It will perform its intended function.
