Best Overall: Brooks England bartape rubber

The finishing tape is a beige self-adhesive cotton weave (like cotton bar tape) strip. It has excellent resistance to abrasion and moisture, meaning this tape is as durable as it is fashionable. It is tapered so that it is thinner on the sides, which is awesome, because it maximizes cushioning while minimizing edge wear.

The kit comes with finishing tape and small strips for under your hoods as well as nice looking bar plugs. The small holes make it easy to establish a Patten and it turns out beautiful. It is easy to install and it is thick enough to be comfortable. These should get darker with time, even if faux leather. It is good as any other microfiber bar tape.

Why We Like This:
  • Great handlebar tape, good quality, perfect for long rides
  • Great grip tape, super comfy and easy to install
  • Comfy grip, there might be easier to install options

Best For triathlon race Bike: Lizard Skins bartape rubber

Not everyone likes to purchase tape for their daily usage, but the lizard skins bartape rubber would be an anomoly. This bar tape provides great cushion for the hands while riding or using the trainer. It stays grippy even when wet. Lizard Skins provide superior grip during hot and therefore sweaty weather conditions and are well cushioned while still retaining the ability to feel the road. The padding lasts a long time and the shock-absorbing characteristics are excellent.

The end plugs are really nice and some are even reflective. It is great tape for gravel roads or bumpy pavement. It does get dirty quickly to add to that provides better results.

Why We Like This:
  • Sheds mud and road grime easily
  • Resists water/sweat better than most tapes and does not get stinky
  • Super comfy, easy to wrap, great grip when it's dry or slightly wet

Best For serious rider: KINGOU bartape rubber

Compared with other tape in this category, the kingou bartape rubber has a convenient design. This kit comes with everything you need to wrap your bars. It wraps very easily, and the finish is more of a satin/flat look rather than glossy. It has no adhesive to the back, which actually makes it easier to stretch and apply. It is textured so that you get a good grip, even if your hands are sweaty.

These are extensibility strong, more cushiony and very soft, which can effectively mitigate the shock from the road and minimize hand fatigue on long rides. They last long, have great grip in wet and dry, and cost very little. It does not have a sticky backing, or cork in it. The feel is nice and the wrap is decently easy, now to see how long it lasts. It is great to keep as a spare set.

Why We Like This:
  • Love the options in color choices
  • Super comfortable and tough enough for tight wraps
  • Wraps look good and installed easily
  • Nice and thick dip it is comfortable on long rides

Best For frame: serfas bartape rubber

This is the standard "cork" tape sold under Serfas as well as Profile and a bunch of other brands. It is good as the synthetic gel tape, but the grip is superior. It conforms to bends nicely without creasing and cleans up well with some citrus cleaner ride. It's nice and cushy, grippy when sweaty/wet and there's plenty of it included in the package. It is super thick with nice beveled edges to help keep the tape looking flat where you want it to if you wrap it right.

Compared to other cork tapes in its bracket, it's a bit less 'rubbery', or tacky, a bit less squish, but locks onto the bars tightly thanks to an adhesive strip instead of relying on the tape's tackiness.

Why We Like This:
  • Great color, very comfortable for your hands
  • Comfortable and installs like any tape but it fades really fast
  • Feels great, looks great, good padding and grip

Best For mountain Bike: Autrends bartape rubber

Best part: autrends bartape rubber costs comparatively low and it is available to ship in 24 hours. You will love this rubber grip tape only sticks to itself strongly. It has no adhesive, it is silicone and when you wrap it around something it sticks to itself and creates a waterproof bond. The silicone material is strong and durable, and the self-fusing feature means that the tape will stay in place once it's wrapped around your equipment. The material is self sealing and really easy to use.

This tape stretches so pull it tight as you wrap it around a leaky pipe or whatever you’re trying to bond together. The grip it provides is excellent, it's not sticky, but it is definitely easy to grip and your hands will not slide on it easily, but rather, grip onto it. The tape is resistant to water and does not slip, even when wet.

Why We Like This:
  • Thicker, more robust silicone wraps, can make grips a bit oversized
  • Self adherent and doesn't leave a sticky feel to it
  • Sturdy self fusing take that is easy to install and stay in place
  • Self-fusing feature for a secure hold

This tape replaces those gloves, which is a lifesaver when gloves feel prohibitive. It is at least as grippy as bat tape. It is self-fusing, meaning that it has no adhesive. It is perfect for waterproofing electrical connections, or protecting your hands from a sharp handle on something.

The silicon tape is easy to apply, just make sure the surface is clean. The tape is not overly sticky to the touch, but does an excellent job fusing to itself. It is easy to apply and works well in the application required. The tape goes on well and sticks to itself very well which can make it difficult to install because you do not have room for errors.

Why We Like This:
  • Easy to put on if you follow the directions
  • New and hot release
