If you’re looking for affordable, 100% cotton watercolour paper, this paper is perfect. The strathmore 500 series ready cut watercolor cold press papers are standard sized sheets for ready-made frames and mats perfect for your watercolor creations. It does not absorb water or paint nicely. It provides greater water hold-out, improved color lifting, and blending.
This paper is harder sized than "old world" papers giving it excellent surface strength. It does not give the right reaction when you do wet on wet. It does not feel like 300g or 100% cotton. It is 100% cotton, acid free, and archival.
Why We Like This:
Excellent watercolor paper that is reasonably priced

The speedball bee cold press paper is satisfactory and appropriate and fits well with your regular usage. A watercolor block is a stack of watercolor paper that is glue bound on more than one side. It is great for layering transparent watercolors. It can be so translucent to so opaque and everything in between. It will not hold up to anything but the lightest of erasures with a kneaded erasor.
It does not allow lifting of the paint without staining, even if non-staining pigments are used. The 300 lb paper does not have to be stretched because it does not buckle, and it is affordable.
Why We Like This:
Good size for small quick paintings
Very sturdy, no buckling and the paper is great for layering transparent watercolors

There are great marker papers. The paper is, and 140 lb paper is the most commonly used by watercolor artists, being thick enough to resist most buckling when the wet paint is applied. This paper is really, REALLY textured. It is textured but not quite as much as arches cold press paper. It is great for loose things, terrible for high detailed things.
The absorbency is excellent, much better than traditional paper. These are excited to use watercolors for the first time. It's nice and thick and dries flat.
