These Iroshizuku inks put down a nice color saturated line of ink. It flows beautifully and the color (black) is just as coal, just magnificent. It does not really bleed through unless you use it excessively on one area. The stand out features of this ink are the shading, flow and the COLOR is just magical. The ink writes very well.

The bottle is beautiful and the ink flows well in a variety of pens and nibs. It will write without feathering even on regular college ruled paper. These are really black and significantly cheaper than Iroshizuku.

Why We Like This:
  • Incredible black ink, very wet, beautiful presentation
  • Gorgeous color and flows wonderfully in nibs from extra fine to broad
  • Lot of satisfied buyers

Next on the list, we've got yet another ink that manages to win our hearts. It's the waterman blacklight ink and it's widely considered as one of the best convenient ink you can buy. The ritual of filling ink from a bottle enhances the noble experience of using classic fountain pens. The Waterman Ink is water soluble and should wash easily from the skin. It is a beautiful and somewhat complex deep blue color that lives up to its name. The glass bottle is classic and can be tipped for filling when it’s lower on ink. The ink works just fine and is a nice royal blue color.

The Waterman Ink is black enough, and flows quite well. It is easy to clean out of pens and converters even if left to dry. There's a screw-off lid that is not difficult to open or close. The ink is black enough, and flows quite well.

Why We Like This:
  • Doesn't clog up nibs with dried ink
  • Flows nice and works well with the converter and pen
  • Good investment for long term

This is one of the best turquoise ink colors among inks for fountain pens. The blotting paper is high quality and thick. The roll of cleaning paper that is part of the container, is perfect for cleanup after filling. It's easy to clean out of nearly any Pen, and it doesn't stain easily. The ink is fairly permanent once dry, even when dampened.

The blotting paper is a neat trick too, perfect for those small drops from a refill. The bottom is very well designed so that you can use every drop of the ink. This is great ink it writes on everything and the blotting paper is perfect for the tip. This bottle is relatively large, not puny as shown in the picture.

Why We Like This:
  • Can also be used as a paperweight
  • Nice deep black hue, without substantial feathering and dries reasonably fast
  • Excellent flow through an extra-fine nib
  • Smooth writing and easy refill with the design of the bottle
