The suburban mfg camper tank heater should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. This heater is gas and electric. It uses about just under 1500 watts of electricity. There are 6 and 10 gallon hot water tanks. This particular heater will work on 110, or if you do not have access to shore power, it will ignite propane using the 12v connection. It has a switch on the panel that needs to be turned on if you want to run it electrically when plugged in. It will work independently on 120v power, no 12v needed. The tank is porcelain on steel. This is plug and play and super easy.
Why We Like This:
Excellent product and actually easy to install
Direct replacement, works great, like the electric option as well

Suburban Mfg line of heater come in a pretty wide variety of styles, so you can definitely find one that suits your individual preferences and needs. This item works fine as a replacement for the current hot water tank. They use a check valve for one of two reasons, to act as a back flow preventer to keep hot and cold water separated and to keep rv anti freeze from entering the water heater. It has "hard plumbed" propane (lp gas) connections and lp gas is not to be taken lightly. It works very well and helps reduce the amount of propane used.
This is a big part and the numbers to it fit the various spaces that it's made for. It comes with the control board. There is an integral switch on the unit and the wire leads are there to attach to 120V power. It is insulated and has no clearance limits for combustibles.
Why We Like This:
Excellent replacement for old water heater
Heats up fast, using only gas or electric, or faster still using both
Size of tank as well, propane and/or 110 volt electric
Easily installed myself no problems at all the outer frame even came with
