Not everyone likes to purchase paper for their daily usage, but the canson canson oil paper would be an anomoly. The Canson paper has a smooth side and a textured side. It holds up to a good bit of liquid without buckling. They are all the same texture and thickness. The paper has a pretty smooth surface for being 138lb, but caution is to not let the spine be crushed by any of your other books. It is just heavy enough to be able to take paint and it is fun to write on.

It is suited for mixed media only. There is a minimum of buckling and can easily be straightened by just weighting it with a couple of heavy books on top. It is just a paper overlay. It is perfect for those preliminary or test drawings.
