Kuhn Rikon has been making great press for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. A see-through plastic barrel lets you quickly determine how much of the contents are left. Easy and fun to use, the stainless steel handle gives you sturdy control that makes perfectly portioned cookies every time. It cleans pretty easily and has lots of disk shapes for the cookies. The clear plastic allows you to see exactly how much is left.
The Ratchet rail & handle lever are stainless steel plus all the nozzles & shaping discs. It is easy to assemble, easy to use, easy to clean, and the see thru barrel also helps with knowing when to reload. There are plenty of different disks included and it is easy to change them out. There are several tips included that should work for you as well to make your "s" shapes.

We would, of course, be remiss if we didn't mention wilton chocolate chip cookie press for daily purpose. The cookie press is really easy to use, and works awesome. A clear barrel allows you to see when you need to refill your press with more dough, and with a click of the soft grip trigger, it's easy to press cookie after cookie without your hand getting tired. It takes several tries to get the trigger and plunger lined up so it will screw on properly. It SHOULD be smooth to the eyes and touch.
The dough consistency makes it super easy. The cookies are a little sweet you may be able to cut down on the sugar. These are very sturdy and definitely worth the extra $10 over the cookie guns with the plastic discs.

Not everyone likes to purchase press for their daily usage, but the wilton cookie press would be an anomoly. This cookie press is very easy to use. It is easy to fill and even to change discs if there is dough in the tube. The metal ends and solid plastic core are much nicer, as are the metal plates, but the purple tab starts to spin within 1-2 uses and falls off completely this year. It can squeeze the handle instead of screwing. The dough needs to be chilled and the pan needs to be cooled each time you use it.
This press will work for thicker dough once or twice. The dough consistency makes it super easy. It is a simple process to do, and there is an "arrow" marked at the top, so you may keep in mind which way the rod needs to be. It should last longer than a few months and less than 12 uses and fell off completely this year.
