The rustoleum colored automotive primer's material feels more premium than its price would suggest. This filler/primer spray paint is really nice, if you give it enough time to fully dry. It can only fill very small gaps between layers, and requires several coats. It provides superior top coat adhesion and the flat finish yields a smooth surface when sanded. It provides rust resistance while the 2 in 1 formula fills surface imperfections and primes the surface.
This is a very good primer that goes on smooth and fills in small imperfections. It has a tendency to run more than most paints. This is specifically filler primer, NOT etching primer. It is good for small rust repair.

Next on the list, we've got yet another primer that manages to win our hearts. It's the sem etch primer and it's widely considered as primer that has the most suitable features. This is an amazing primer for bare metal. It is used to refinish some wheels and provides a good base coat for paint. It is mainly for bare metal. It is impossible to scratch it off with a fingernail or to have it lift off after peeling away masking tape.
This primer creates an abnormal amount of dust / overspray, but the adhesion is great. It is a professional grade self etching primer. The primer works, but the spray pattern + consistency makes it much easier to use. It will tell you the temperature range of the paint.

The sem colored automotive primer should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. It’s not as high build as a spray gun but it will do smaller jobs well. It will work on bare metal, paint or filler, so if you accidentally sand through to bare metal while blocking it saves having to mix up a batch of 2k primer just for a spot repair.
The high build primer is used under the top coat, to fill any scratches or minor imperfections while finish sanding, and self-etching is used only on bare metal, under any body filler, or other primer. This will work with the urethane base coat. It dries really fast and sands beautifully without clogging sandpaper.
Why We Like This:
Great for auto body work when you need to do
Works like a champ for filling scratches and creating transitions
