The cressi modern knife should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. It is great knife for divers and has a great feel in the hand. It has a solid steel extension (1/2 inch by 11/16 inch) intended to protect the handle when the knife is used as a hammer. It comes in a sheath that can only be mounted to the leg or arm or maybe bcd. It is easy to get out with the push of the button, even with gloves on.

The Knife is great and zero rust if you just oil it like you are supposed to prior to diving with mineral oil or silicone grease. It is not ergonomic, poor material choice, and cannot be removed for maintenance but has a landyard hole. The straps are also nice and long. The knife is actually great quality.
