The Hand-stitched Landscapes & Flowers book by Katrina Witten is beautiful enough to be a coffee table book and inspiring enough to be an asset to anyone either considering taking up embroidery or someone wanting to further their skills. It's amazing practice and very fun. Using synthetic organza and some simple stitches, Witten’s techniques elevate embroidery with stunning results. Some of the designs have a lot of texture, 3D features, organza and beading which can be a practical problem with a shirt or jacket.

The variety of flowers is vast, and whether you embroider or not and whether you are a novice or an experienced stitcher, this is a great book to have.

The illustrations are incredibly detailed, easy step-by-step instructions, simple color guides, and simply beautiful florals all around. It includes a good basic compilation of stitches with photos and descriptions. It just shows you how to draw the flowers and where to use each basic stitch with colors (mostly satin stitch) but it doesn't show you different ways to stitch them if that makes sense. The flowers are pretty and the explanations are good.
