If you often find yourself scrambling for convenient and suitable cutter, this product is your end point. It cuts through chicken wire, rabbit wire, gutter and down spout and sheet metal with ease. It has a design for fast burr free cutting. It works quickly and efficiently. It cuts through thin things very quickly like metal, cardboard. The shear attachment is OK for thinner materials like vinyl flooring, tight pile carpeting and thin sheetstock but bogs down on thicker materials.
It's a bit large and clunky for long runs, but you can swivel the head to get the impact driver out of the way. The shears also use a fair amount of battery power so you may find that 12 volts doesn't last very long.
Why We Like This:
Great for cutting metal, linoleum, cardboard, wallpaper
Great great great for heavier metals
Highly recommend for straight or angular cuts in 18+ gauge sheetmetal

The dewalt shear attachment is suitable and reliable and fits well with your daily usage. This works fantastic for 26 gauge roofing projects. It is used for folding channels and making long uniform bends in sheet metal. This attachment turns any dewalt drill or impact driver into a set of electric shears. It does not create wavy when cuting upright on a panel. The arm brace is a large clamp that will hold it. It will also leave one side wavy. It is easy to cut curve's and shapes.
Why We Like This:
Worked well on long straight cuts up the sheet
Excellent shears very easy to use and attach to your drill or impact drill

Compared with other products by Dewalt, the dewalt great attachment has a convenient design. This unit clamps on a battery/impact base and is easy to maneuver with one hand while holding your material with the other. It is great for straight metal and roofing with ridges. It can be mounted on multiple drill types besides dewalt with small adjustment. It will cut small circles but has to have a one inch hole to get the jaw in or will have to start from the edge of the material.
The blades have the same shape look as the dewalt496b cutting shears. It is much quicker and easier than using handheld tin snips. The Product works great for straight cuts on flat metal.
