The features department is where pyle drum kit truly manages to shine. There are all kinds of different drum kit sound options, which makes it more fun than just a standard kit. It is perfect for beginners or for someone who wants a good midi drum kit to record into music projects. The sticks, pads, pedals, sounds, controls, connections are all basic, but work plenty well enough for a beginner to explore what this drumset thing is all about. The pads are sensitive enough to handle snare rolls, flams and more articulate playing.
This unit has a variety of sounds to choose from and a hand percs option. The pads are responsive and the sound is clear with plenty of volume. It's small and compact so it does take up a lot of room. The overall design is good and the pads are well built.

Kat Percussion has been making great machine for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. The MIDI from the Kat pad is standard MIDI for drum sets. It does have an input to use a bass pedal. The pads are responsive and the Hi-Hat accessory works well too. They require precise hits on the pad or else you wind up with missed hits and beats. There are a sound kit for the HH and Kick. The pedal itself feels great and is wonderfully quiet.
The preset sounds in this machine are excellent, they are not a 100 % authentic acoustic drum sound, but no electronic drum ever will be. It is good to have in your home studio.
Why We Like This:
Fun to play and sounds pretty nice
You can get the sounds using your hands or with sticks
