Nancy Faber makes beautiful and great book with classic and smartly choosen materials. Faber's Piano Adventure course books are an excellent way to learn piano if you want to learn at a more slower in depth pace. It is perfectly fine for learning the basics, but compared to a good teacher a book can’t teach the subtleties of phrasing, touch, dynamics etc. The lessons build onto the next one, gradually increasing the skills. They get you moving around the keyboard with both hands moving independent of each other.
The music to play is a combination of classical (from many composers) and music from African American spirituals to jazz to more recent music. This book is so well done for adults learning to play for the first. It is laid out well so that the student can build on past concepts. It's a really great book for learning the piano from nothing for adults.Why We Like This:
