Not everyone likes to purchase system for their daily usage, but the fastferment fermenter cooling system would be an anomoly. There is plenty of head space for a medium or light-bodied beer to be brewed without worry, but if you're going to do something heavy you'll definitely still want to start with a blow-off hose. It is a great fermenter that makes transitioning from primary to secondary fermentation clean and easy and eliminates risk of contamination.
The conical fermenter design eliminates sediment and exposure to oxygen while allowing for yeast harvesting. It also makes filtration and racking easier since the beer/wine/cider/mead is not sitting directly on the yeast cake. The fermenter can handle 7 gallons easily, so make sure to adjust your recipes from 5 gal to 7 gal unless you want weak beer.
These are light and easy to install/clean.
Why We Like This:
Easy to use, great for wine making
Super slick set up,love the way you can remove the waste after first fermentation

If you want nothing but a system that is reliable, this cool brewing fermenter cooling system is certainly a right investment. This bag just folds up and can be shoved on a shelf when you're not brewing, freeing up a fair amount of space. It is designed primarily for fermentation buckets. It zips closed from both ends, so you can easily port a blowoff tube outside of the bag. The lid is fairly rigid and the bag is just tall enough that it doesn't bother the airlock. It is roughly 23" to the zipper and should be able to fit a little taller if the top flexes out like a tent.
As an inexpensive alternative this is a good option living in a really hot, brutal environment as with such intensely hot ambient temps it is impossible to successfully brew without some form of temperature control. This system is a little unpredictable and high maintenance. The great thing is that this bag insulates well enough to prevent big temperature swings and gives you time to make small adjustments. It is compatible with buckets, fermenters and carboys up to 8 gallons.
Why We Like This:
Plenty of room for fermenter and ice bottles or ice packs
