Cleat nails are best for 3/4" flooring with a pneumatic/mallet flooring nailer. This size flooring has thin tongues, ie staples, not cleats. It is easy to use, and when converted to the face nailer its works great as a woodwork nailer.
It is used to prevent the pin from falling out that holds the adapters in place to convert from regular stapler to flooring stapler. If you know your way around air-powered tools this is a nice light-duty nailer. It works great on flooring up to 1/2 inch thicker you should be using a larger nailer anyway.
