The 8' Original new modern boards have a bit different deck skin and upgraded features. It keeps twisting on itself and you have to get off the board to untangle. The top skin will bubble if left exposed to the sun. The length and the volume of the board are made for a beginning surfer, especially if you are dealing with smaller waves. The board is extremely lightweight for one of this size. On the positive side, it's great for mushy small waves.
