Lobster style gloves are perfect for bike riding as they are much warmer than traditional gloves but allow you to operate your levers unlike full mittens. They have zero touch capability so forget about grabbing and operating your phone at a stoplight, or, even worse, swiping across your Garmin screen to change views. The divider/liner in the fingers keeps them in contact with each other which is the key to keeping them warm, just like mittens.

These are decent at keeping hands warm on cold rides and split finger style gives good control for shifting and brake levers. The long fingertips make it a bit tricky to grab and operate a zipper, or to grab and pull a sleeve cuff after you put on your second glove.
