It is great as all of the remo drum heads are. It is constructed with 2-plies of 7-mil coated film, and emperor coated drumheads provide a soft feel and subtle attack for studio and live applications. The head allows all the articulation and nuances you may apply through a song.

It has experienced a drum circle, jam or performance that knows the transformative effect of rhythm. It has a dual ply head which makes it quite durable and the coating as well of course gives it more so. It is best for warm sound and tuning. The double ply head will probably last a little longer too.

Why We Like This:
  • Well made, great sounding and very long lasting
  • Nice and tight, and the heads were prestine
  • Sounds amazing, great for studio recording

The remo snare head should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. The old remo hazy snare head covers the most ground in getting an all around great snare crack. It is an interactive community tool that promotes wellbeing and life enhancement. It is made with a single-ply 3-mil mylar film to produce an open, bright, and resonant sound with plenty of attack. The sound is great and the quality of the product and experience is better than the other manufacturers.

The Ambassador hazy snare side features open resonant tones that is the industry standard for resonant snare drum applications. Compared to a hazy Diplomat head, the hazy Ambassador sounds a bit more crisp but, much more importantly, is much more durable when playing on the snare side. These drum heads always provide a snappy sound for your snare drum.

Why We Like This:
  • Sounds as a single ply resonant snare head should
  • Lasts a long time and sounds great
  • Works great for a snare drum played upside-down

Not everyone likes to purchase head for their daily usage, but the evans good snare head would be an anomoly. If you want to crank your snare side super tight and get that dull pop without rattle, this is the head. It is definitely a "Rock" snare head. It is a 3mil film that offers a controlled snare response at all dynamic levels. It provides outstanding articulation and also it is available in 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 inch sizes. It allows it to deliver high dynamic levels and a dark, throaty sound, making it a great fit for deep drums or hard rock performances.

This snare side is absolutely amazing. It is great sound to compliment the black hydraulic snare beater head. It is pretty thick for a snare head so you lose a lot of sensitivity, dynamics as well. It is perfect for any use if you know how to tune.

Why We Like This:
  • A nice crisp sound, without sounding like a piccolo snare
  • Love the crystal clear "glassy" look
  • Delivers what they promise

The evans drum head is capable of outshining several other head featured in this list in overall features for the price point. This drum head sounds great. Wider tuning options result in higher levels of responsivness and resonance, giving you the confidence to tune your drums high or low. They also sound great live with microphones and give you a built in pre-EQed effect. The head is also very durable due to the two ply mylar with a layer of oil in the center.

These do have oil inside (in the blue and clear, you can see it), so you can't use the Kickport FX series in them. The attack on this head is incredible and with the thick 500 snare side, it just goes CRACK. It can be tuned high and the tone is very crisp with a nice tight pop, while lower tunings will bring out a nice full wet tone.

Why We Like This:
  • Very thick 2 ply, durable, and very self-dampening
  • Snaps back without a lot of snare hum
  • Great deep and powerful sound, with a nice finish
