The introduction provides very helpful information on using the guide, the maps, bears, bugs, weather, the seasons, backcountry campsites, permits, regulations, and much more. The detail of the map is similar to a trail map that you can pick up at the visitors center. The trails are cross-referenced several ways, so it's easy to find which trails fit what you're looking for.

This book has glossy pages and some nice pics. It is waterproof without feeling like a laminated map that you can pick up at the visitors center. There is plenty of information on the types and difficulty of the hikes inside the park. The maps are very easy to read.
