This book has many wonderful, creative fonts and ways to incorporate them. It is easy to follow to make unique creations on your own. It is perfect size to tuck into a bag and work through as you find the time. It is also interesting to learn about the history of different typefaces. It is easy to take along or prop up to practice.

This book is a modern take on calligraphy and shows you step by step how to use the proper technique. It provides you with upper and lower case, and numbers, for each style it showcases. The beginning has many of the same instructions that are given in other hand lettering books. This will not show you how to use an old school calligraphy pen or lets go even further back, a quill.

As long as you can be committed to some work, this is a great book. This is followed up with some technique pointers such as what angle to hold your pen on upstrokes, downstrokes, over and under strokes, etc. It would make a very nice gift for an art loving person. This book is easy to follow along with and it is enjoyable to use.
