Buy on Amazon Not everyone likes to purchase deck for their regular usage, but the tascam head cassette deck would be an anomoly. It is a dual cassette deck with old-style RCA (i.e., red & white patch cord) inputs and outputs for connecting to a receiver or amplifier. It is used for recording or playback, or can be used together. The deck has a "noise reduction" switch on the front right bottom that says "playback only. The buttons are snappy, and the small screen on the front displays real audio meters. It does have a switch on the back for use with 230v European household currents, if you are using it there. The usb outputs a 2 channel stream but the capture rate is only 128 kbps...For higher bit rates such as 192 or higher it’s preferable to use the analog outputs into an audio interface. The tracks have individual level controls that allow you to adjust the volume of the track. This unit can play, record or duplicate all audio cassettes (including metal tapes) and utilizes Dolby noise reduction systems. Why We Like This:
- A decent modern alternative for a cassette deck
- Good for copying cassette to cassette
- Nice to have a feature to speed up or slow down tape playback
Teac double Cassette Deck
Buy on Amazon The teac double cassette deck is capable of outshining several other deck featured in this list in overall features in its price range. This is a great dual deck stereo cassette. It is used for copying or duplicating a cassette from deck a to deck b. It is essentially the tascam 202 mk-vii without the "wings" for the rack mount. It is best with what it can get it’s hands on. This deck has outstanding quality and is undoubtedly more reliable than the Ion, Marantz Profesional and similar clones. The flurescent display has brightness adjustment. This machine works flawless and the recordings are crystal clear for analog. Why We Like This:
- Solidly built with some very good features
- Usb 2.0 (full speed) standard compliant
- Plays wonderfully and transfers them to the computer as they were recorded
- Manual volume recording, digital counters with return to zero
Teac head Cassette Deck
Buy on Amazon The teac head cassette deck's superior materials makes sure that it ages well with use. This deck not only plays cassettes well, but offers features that make cassettes in themselves attractive. It does all it needs to do looks good and functions well. It does not have a place to plug in a microphone as most cassette player/recorders have. It only has Dolby B noise reduction, but that is fine considering that there are (or almost were) no commercial tapes made in Dolby C or DBX anyways. The display and controls are all logical and easy to read. It offers convenience and affordability in a format no longer cutting-edge but still widely used in cars as well as portable and home stereos. If you must play a cassette, this will work well for you.Why We Like This:
- Nice clear sound with the dolby nr
- Useful if you want to transfer your cassettes to cds or dvds
- Has auto reverse and dual cassettes
