SEM High temperature etch Primer

Sem offers a variety of primer for personal choice and yet maintaining quality in all the variants. This self-etching primer requires a top coat. It is a first-step coating that provides excellent adhesion to bare substrates. It lays flat, sprays evenly and will make the top coat application a breeze. The finish is a nice flat (almost satin) black with no fades or discoloration. It's also a good sealer base to spray sandable filler primer under. The primer dries quickly (three thin coats five to ten minutes apart are recommended) and can have the color coats applied after only an hour or so. It is made for perfect preparation for paint. The paint will dry faster at higher temperatures.

Why We Like This:
  • Takes a lot to cover a surface adequately
  • 80 °f temperatures without any problems
  • Covers very good and dries quickly

UPOL High temperature etch Primer

The upol high temperature etch primer is specially designed for your daily usage and has all useful features. This product would work for a steel trailer. It is perfectly, great stuff plus works well on bare aluminum. It is only used over bare metal (which usually surrounds the body filler, after repair is completed), so it's okay to spray over body filler where there is exposed metal surrounding the body filler. The bond between the etching primer and metal is much better/stronger than the bond between metal and primer surfacer, or between metal and paint.

This material is considered a thin material and the smaller tip works well with the 1.4 mm tip. It is nice that you do not have to sand before base-coating. It is nearly impossible for water molecules to penetrate/pass thru, which means much better/excellent corrosion resistance.

Why We Like This:
  • Great product for aluminum jon boats
  • A must have sealer to spray down before bedlining
  • Rust, no raptor liner flaking, great product

Eastwood High temperature etch Primer

This easy-to-use aerosol etches and primes bare, rust-free metal in one step. It is good primer for a truck restoration project. It is easy to use for spot repairs and bonds better than other aerosol primers while a gallon can has more value for big projects.

The etching primer uses an aggressive solvent system to assure excellent adhesion to clean, rust. The adhesion is much better than regular primer alone under the finish coat. It is also a single-stage formula that requires no catalyst, making it even easier to use. It is easy to use for chassis and undercarriages, you might even simply put a clear coat or seam sealer over it and let the black color shine through.

Why We Like This:
  • Perfect for painting knobs, hindges, etc
  • Lacquer-based, single-stage formula requires no catalyst
  • New and hot release

Not everyone likes to purchase primer for their daily usage, but the kbs coatings high temperature etch primer would be an anomoly. The XTC Silicone Zinc Primer functions much like galvanizing as it locks itself to bare metal surfaces leaving a perfect primed surface for top coating. It can be used on motor parts.
