If you get a $200 telescope for Christmas and the biggest lens is a regular 20mm, this will make life much nicer when you are looking at things that are large but faint as in Lagoon nebula or Andromeda galaxy. It is perfect for deep sky objects. It has fully coated optic glass eyepieces for excellent image contrast and light transmission. It is very clear and crisp with a 5" primary.
