The albert h morehead hoyle's official rule of card game is satisfactory and appropriate and fits well with your regular usage. This book covers rules for almost every game you would like to play. There are a few board games (chess, checkers backgammon) and dice games but it is primarily for cards. It's all there in the book, plus new card games and different versions of solitaire to try. It even covers multiple continents and cultures.
There are tonnes of poker variants and are fairly well explained, but the strategy guide (only for five card draw and five stud, two nearly dead games) is pretty pitiful. It includes dice games and scrabble. It solves problems when you play cards. It's considered to be an authoritative and standard text on classic card games, as well as on numerous other games.

Richard L Frey makes beautiful and great rule with classic and smartly choosen materials. For a serious or even casual card/game player, this is simply one book you cannot do without. It provides almost no "expert advice on winning play" as the subtitle of the book promises. This is a traditional and invaluable reference book. It has many forms and is played differently in different lands and communities, but the basic principle is everywhere the same.
The definitive reference for home games, this particular edition covers everything from Poker to Scrabble (the gaming juggernaut of the time) to Old Maid to Chess to Canasta. It provides the rules and history for an impressive, although not exhaustive, list of card, board and casino games. This is a great book for game nights when you want to play new or different games.
