This muffler connects directly to the mower exhaust pipe. It fits perfectly, inbolt old and install new muffler in reverse order, and definitely much more quiet than the old blown out muffler. The muffler mounts to the tractor frame and then you have to insert the exhaust pipe into the muffler and then attach the exhaust pipe to the engine head. The new muffler is easy to install and it fits perfectly.

The OEM has screws that mount the muffler to the frame. These resist the bolts loosening up and the new muffler slides right onto the exhaust pipe and bolts right up. It will last longer than the mower.

These mufflers are the slip fit type of muffler meaning that there are no gaskets, just like the oem one. It can be used on a sears craftsman garden lawn tractor (54 inch deck) with a 26 hp v twin koehler engine. The muffler works well so far, and the hum of the lawn tractor/mower is so much quieter.
