Best complete Japanese Grammar Book: Kenneth g Henshall Japanese Learning Book

Kenneth g Henshall Japanese Learning Book
Buy on Amazon

Kenneth G Henshall has been making great book for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. Learning Japanese hiragana and katakana gives you an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at kana. It's always so fantastic to learn different languages, that is something so fundamental. The inside is great-a page per kana, illustrations of strokes, etc, and after every 2 sets there's practice sheets with actual Japanese words. It includes both hiragana and katana characters.

The first sections are dedicated to practicing Hiragana and Katakana, then a section for basic words/phrases, quizzes, and a blank grid. It's really close to each other, making everything look blurry. If you do want to get a workbook that includes flash cards, these are highly recommended. It's actually light and easy to carry.

Why We Like This:
  • Provides interesting "history" of how each character evolved and came to be
  • Lots of room for practicing writing in the book
  • Detailed information on pronunciation and origin information for each character
  • Great book to start training your japanese writing

The dk japanese learning book should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. It is wonderful, for through well printed photos you can have any subject with the japanese way of writing, since the sillabary hiragana, katakana and the beautiful kanjis until the soft touch of a brilliant paper. It gives you the information in katakana, with english pronunciation underneath it, which is very easy for a native english speaker to understand. It works in harmony with the chinese and spanish dictionaries so that a word in one dictionary is available in the other dictionaries on the same page so there is a handy reference between languages, understanding, and context.

The different topics on each page also make it easy to teach all of the words that someone may need to talk about that topic. The book still provides a good foundation for common items you'll likely encounter if you're traveling to Japan, and it's easier to remember familiar sounding words, and native speakers might understand what you're trying to say, you will sound very "foreign.
