It does struggle with some very thick paints from Turbo Dork, but has worked great for Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, and System 3 inks. It works great on them, and definitely makes them smoother and breaks up the pigmentation. There is a sleeve around the inner dimple that is metal and has to push straight down to turn the unit on, if it's pushed a little off center it won't work and if it slides off center while in use it stops.

Any size of hobby paint bottle fits on it & you can shake it right side up, upside down or on its side for those bottles that have really settled. If you paint, this is a good tool to have. It would only take 10 seconds to mix your liquids.
