This would certainly be a 5 star product if hiking trails have distances marked on them. Though trails are marked well, this map is great for reference points throughout the hiking, especially figuring out mountains and glaciers. It is a good topo map for trip planning. Though this product is very handy, a list of trails within the park (printed from the internet) makes for a great accompanying piece to this map while planning your hikes at a glacier.

These maps have a lot of general hiking, touring and camping info which isn't necessary and wastes space, but it isn't offensive or harmful. This map would be overkill if you are just driving through the park and taking a couple short hikes. It is easy to read and differentiate what's what as far as roads, dirt roads, trails etc.

It includes many helpful features like magnetic declination, trail color markers (not trail names though), trail segment distances, and locations of lean-tos and parking areas. The water resistant paper and print quality are top notch and it refolds fairly well.

It shows trails and the distances. Lamination keeps it dry and durable. You must camp in designated campsites or lean-tos if you're spending the night in that region, which is where mt is located.

This particular nat geographic map includes the best off road motorcycle area in the usa. The latitude 40 map contains significantly more trails than the nat geo maps. This map basically divides that area in half, requiring constant front and back flipping of the map. The map has a whole lot more.

This is a nice plasticized topographic map of the entire area. It doesn't tear or rip. The map and subsequent detail within are excellent. If you plan on a trip to Southwest Colorado, this is definitely worth taking along.

This trail illustrated national goegrphic map gives a preview of the area and some confidence by showing topography and trails. It looks good used during hikes in the park. The flip side of the map is offset so there is no information for the area off the bottom of the map, which while not necessary for the hike, is a bit aggravating when trying to see what it is that you are looking at from the trail. It is waterproof and the material is super durable. This is a must if you are going to gnp and want to hike.
