This lamy blue is a gorgeous deep blue and a juicy ink even in fountain pens that write a little on the dry side. This bottle sits in it's own attached plastic base that has a roll of blotting paper you can pull out and tear off a bit to blot after filling a pen. The ink is dark and smooth when writing with it. It is used to wipe the nib after filling and the grip section if needed. The ink also writes very smoothly and the well in bottom of the bottle allows all the ink to be used.

The bottle has an usual design with a little bubble in the bottom of the bottle so when the ink runs low it will still be deep enough so you can suck it into your pen. If a spill might occur, the ink cleans up easily with water. They included a Lamy cartridge/converter, a baker’s dozen. This ink is less subtle in colour than a midnight blue montblanc ( of course) but it dries immediately with no smudging and a consistency that is excellent.

This is a nice and profound ink that has been specially designed for Lamy pens. The design of the bottle is a very underrated feature here, it has a cool little center reservoir that helps you re-fill your pen easily without getting ink everywhere, and the blotting paper is a really nice touch to getting that nib clean again before use. Like any fountain-pen ink, it works well only on a coated paper so the ink doesn't sink in.

This blue shade is soothing and it's a nice wet ink that glides smooth. The roll of absorbent paper on the base is a very handy for wiping off ink after filling. Its color nearly matches the blue Lamy Safari's body, and is reasonably quick drying. There's a bit of shading with some pens, and a pretty pinkish sheen on nicer papers. The ink is fairly permanent once dry, even when dampened.
