It has a bullet like end making it most versatile. The steel is exactly 3 inches in length. The stainless steel bar is a generous 3 1/16 inch from end to end. The wooden grip is contoured to allow your fingers and thumb to naturally grip the slide in a way that provides for optimal contol, and reduces slippage. The sharp end (squared off) is excellent for pull offs, while the rounded end is perfect for moving across the strings without pulling the bar off.

There are small, subtle differences between the stainless and plated brass iterations. It is great for 8 string or electric lap.

It is made of high-quality stainless steel for long lifeand available in four sizes. It is great for lap/non-pedal/pedal steel guitar slide work. The weight gives a solid tone and sustain you just can't get with anything that slides on your finger. The finish is always smooth and the weight just right.

This bar is great however for the left hand muting of the strings, since you hand naturally rests on the strings behind the bar. It is easy to pick up and move. The extra money to get the solid stainless steel, the cheaper ones are chromed brass and it does take long to wear off.
