Lewmar has been making great windlass for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. This windlass takes 1/4" ht chain and 1/2" medium stand or 8 plait rope. It does need to be taught in order to grab. It does work great pulling up the rope but once it gets to the chain (Lewmar rope and chain) you have to hand feed the chain in and hope you don't lose your fingers. The kit contains the windlass, rocker switch, solenoid, circuit breaker and installation / clutch wrench.
