Best Overall: Docooler Lighting A Propane Lantern

Docooler Lighting A Propane Lantern

This lantern is just like the big boys, very bright but compact. It uses the dual fuel. It lights up on the dime with a piezo, very well calibrated flame adjustment which enables a super bright or very low light. If you plan to use it as a tabletop lantern then the chain will just get in the way and will make it more like to snag and tip the lantern.

The lantern is designed to work with iso-propane canisters that are shorter and wider which make it stable when placed on a flat surface. It's hot enough to etch and soften glass. It comes with an adapter for that style of canister. The lantern will get pretty hot while being used, hot enough to burn you or melt nylon if touched.

Why We Like This:
  • Goes with the rocket stove very well
  • Magnificent lantern that perches nicely on an 8 oz butane canister
  • Excellent for a source of heat and light

The fire-maple lighting a propane lantern should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. For backpack-campers this represents extra weight, a luxury item that is a bit fragile, and that 'wastes' fuel. It is small in fuel consumption, only about 4g/h;easy to carry, mini size, ultralight and portable. It will 'run out' during the backpacking or camping trip. It is great for camping and as a gift for your friends who like the outdoors.

This lantern can compare this with sap candle light. It is easy to ignite, no need for light yarn, and easy to use. It's like a large candle flame without the smoke. This isn't romantic, but does a useful job, either sipping fuel or helping to completely empty a low IsoPro canister.

We know from years of feedback from readers, customers and amazon sellers, what most people want in a convenient and appropriate lantern. The eoocvt lighting a propane lantern is exactly that - it's a simple lantern that hits all the right notes. These small lanterns are very compact and work well. The Thorium mantles put out more light, don't shrink down to nothing when pre-burned and hold up to some rough treatment in the pack. The wind screen is steal with holes so you don't have to worry about breaking glass but the mantel is still a typical ceramic mesh so that is going to break if you drop it anyway.

This is really a plus for the national parks that do not allow campfires, as it gives some ambient light to the camp ground. The gas valve is of good quality construction and seals closed tightly with no leaks. The clasp which holds the top and metal globe on will have to be tweaked to fit snuggly. It is very light weight and makes very well.

  • Small & compact / puts out good heat & light
  • Easy to use and the out put of light is solid
  • Comes with 2 decent mantels and works with coleman ones
