Nintendo has been making great story for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. If you're looking for classic Mario/Luigi platforming action, then this game will satisfy your cravings just fine. It basically allows you to fly with a very, VERY, short running start, makes you invincible to any attack until you reach the goal post (minus lava, bottomless pit, etc), and allows you to defeat any enemy simply by touching them. The game literally holds more than a million possible coins, and keeps track of each for you as you proceed from beginning to end.

This is a great game that has a fun "coin-rush" mode that adds a lot of playtime beyond the main campaign. The Spotpass functionality built into the 3ds allows you to share your running total with friends and family.

The gold mushroom just gives tons of gold coins, and the gold flower just turns everything into gold coins, including enemies and blocks. It is easy to play through the whole campaign without ever seeing the game over screen. There is plenty of incentive to collect everything and find every secret as this is how you can get to the alternate worlds as well as finding the secret world.
