The nintendo favorite game has killer features for the price point. This is one of the best games released for the NES and is essential gaming for a Mario fan. It offers a challenge but yet still a simple game to play not like the games of today that require a sixth sense just to walk through it. This game is unlike the first two and can be pleasing. There is also some new game mechanics to master, such as flying, slow-falling with the raccoon tail, and being able to pick up the koopa shells and throw them at enemies.

The graphics and sound are very good but the All-Stars remake and Gameboy Advanced versions are even better despite this game does have it's charms with the chunky pixel 8-bit look and the controls are excellent as well. The music and game mechanics are astounding. This game offers new stuff like power-ups, new moves, new features and 8 rich worlds with many levels to explore. The levels are fun and challenging, but gameplay can get bland, repetetive, and painstakingly long.

Why We Like This:
  • Fast paced and fun, with many fun and interesting themes
  • Replay value is good and the game is well worth replaying
  • A unique and innovative game for it's time

Mario bro Classic

The mario bro classic is capable of outshining several other products featured in this list in overall features for the price point. The concept of traveling from world to world (Let alone being able to kill a beast to save a princess) in a video game was pretty much unheard of back then, so thanks to the power of the NES, it all became reality. It is what made nintendo and mario popular. The Duck Hunt is a simple arcade-style shooting game that you play using your trusty light phaser. It has everything from action, adventure, swimming and a storyline.

This game is a great classic. It is great for a older video game. This game originally comes with the system so it is the oldest and it still works. It's a lot of fun.

Why We Like This:
  • Entertaining if you are bored and can be fun
  • Provides hours of fun and rage
  • You run, you jump, you crush enemies, you grab items to upgrade yourself, etc

Nintendo true Classic

Best part: nintendo true classic costs comparatively low and it is available to ship in 24 hours. The Super Mario Bros. 2 keeps a nice balance in the way the various game mechanics come into play. Sure, it plays differently and has new and odd mechanics as well as enemies, but it's a really fun game that will keep you coming back for more punishment and reward as you learn the levels and master the physics. The ability to play as four characters really gives the game variation, and the potential to stack up those extra lives in the slot machine, even when just spamming A, gives the game a truly fair feel.

With it's pick-up-and-throw gameplay, bevy of secrets and really unique worlds, the gameplay stays fun throughout the 7 worlds of the game, with lots to see. There are shortcuts in many levels and different ways to warp, get extra lives (including an odd cheat for extra lives), or to shorten the game. The sound effects are also very nice. This is a great classic game.

Why We Like This:
  • A classicly made game for a classic system
  • You could also play as either mario, luigi, peach or toad
  • Inventive, constantly engaging and packed full of interesting bad guys

The nintendo instant classic's superior materials makes sure that it ages well with use. Super Mario Brother’s audio tracks are classics, and have even been played by Orchestras in New York and San Francisco, not many other games have that on their stat line. It features great graphics (for 1985) and outstanding game play. Each time you play, the game is as fresh and enjoyable as it is when it first graces TV screens in. The Fireflower lets you shoot a bouncing fireball when you press the B button and the starman makes you invincible to plow through enemies. The music for this game is a bit catchy as well.

This game makes a great gift for anyone who has an obsession with the NES, and it can provide hours of fun entertainment. There are eight different levels, which contains four stages.

Why We Like This:
  • A true gaming masterpiece and one of the best games ever made
  • Play and enjoy a long trip with mario
  • You can breeze through the game and have fun while doing it
