Innogear has been making great thread for years, thanks to a combination of clever design and appropriate materials. This desktop microphone stand is designed with a heavy weighted powder coated black finish base that features a rubber gasket on the bottom to absorb vibration and provide a precise balance and stability for kick drum and amp mic stand. It has everything you need is easy to install and works perfectly in tight spaces. The bar at the top can rotate to have your mic point up, down, sideways or whichever you prefer. The boom supports the microphone, and shock mount at an side angle. The rubber stripping on the underside of the base prevents scratching your desk, and acts to partially isolate the mic from noise. It provides excellent stability for even heavy mics.

Very sturdy and adjusts perfectly, easy to assemble

The km mic thread is capable of outshining several other thread featured in this list in overall features for the price point. Affordable, this table/floor stand is compact and practical. It is great as a stand to hold an electronics space filter when micing up a guitar cab. A hefty weighted non-slip base provides balance and stability to the low-profile stand, while a rubber ring reduces unwanted vibrations to help improve sound quality.
The base is very solid and sturdy and has a large rubber "donut" on the underside of the cast metal base for a little bit of floor isolation and protection. The circular rubber insert ring filters unwanted sounds.

Compared with other thread in this category, the lyrcro mic thread has a convenient design. The shock mount can isolate most studio condenser microphone from physical vibration, floor and stand noise, making your singing more clear. It comes with double layers mesh screen that can reduce vocal popping and sibilance effectively to ensure better recording sound quality. The hole to put in the table can be customizable, but overall it's a great product.

The proaim mic thread's superior materials makes sure that it ages well with use. It's just barely long enough at 24", to hold a long shotgun mic, but the 3 mic clips can't grip the mic enough to stop it from sliding forward when aimed down. It has shock mounts, essential for eliminating unwanted noise caused by vibrations, handling, and movement. It comes with a thin layer of acoustic fabric to block the wind but allows sound to pass through. The tilt mechanism tilts forward all the way back at you, but won't tilt up flat to the mic straight ahead.
The outer cover (dead cat/wombat/opossum) is well made, and is not just a thin layer of fake fur. It has a detachable extension for use with more compact mics. The pivot point is also about 1/4 inch behind the center line of the pole which means you have to try to move the mic forward in the clips but none of that would totally solve it since you can't move the pivot in relation to the shell. It is a perfect windshield that fits over and surrounds the entire microphone to create a calm pocket of air around the microphone.
Why We Like This:
Light, but flexible and strong (enough) construction
60 cm & 40cm synthetic fur covers
To make your sound recording acoustically transparent
60 cm blimp windscreen with microphone suspension and handle
