The boss midi drum pedal should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. The Space Echo mode has a tape delay model (instead of digital delay model) as part of it (as a space echo should) with some unique features there, and more than adequate controls for. It sounds convincingly analog. With this you get access to 2 simultaneous delay and reverb engines, endless flexibility, presets galore and the ability to select them via a MIDI controller. The delays support divisions, tempo and sound great. There is no on/off switch, but the unit doesn't power up until you plug a cable into the left (mono) input.
This pedal also sounds fantastic, has a great software editor, immense flexibility, and the feature set appears to be best-in-class by a wide margin. The A/B simul mode and a great delay engine (more on those later) really give this pedal tremendous flexibility.
