They fit well (5'4) and have a decent amount of padding, but you'll still feel the impact on your leg if you deliver or receive a kick with full force.

These guards are one size fits most and they are designed to have a snug fit to accommodate multiple body types. It has enough padding for the shins and above the instep. They wash easily too. It doesn't really do a good job at securing the shin guard.
