The mylec number one street hockey pad should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. There are other pads that are more pricy, a little heavier, and not as slide friendly as these for asphalt surfaces. It is a workout in itself to get these pads to flex into a proper butterfly position, but you will not find a more durable and protective leg pad. It has become more flexible and easier to use.
The thick threaded material makes for ice which will rip up on street surfaces and not slide at all. The plastic straps do require one to pull them very tight so they fit snug and don't slide off when dropping to the ground and/or butterfly position and more importantly, the metal buckles can dig into your skin. These are also very very durable, a must have if you are a roller hockey goalie. It is good for casual street/roller hockey players and for the avid enthusiast.

The mylec leg pad should be able to handle its purpose and duties with ease. These are the standard shin pads most people use. It feels like you are wearing next to nothing and allows you to play with confidence knowing that if an errant stick hit to the shins occurs, you definitely will not feel it. It is used to use these to play deck hockey.
These are more than 2" bigger than the mediums. They're light weight, if you have ice hockey shinpads, stick with those. These are great if you have disregard for the lower portion of your leg between the mid-knee-cap & 2 inches above the ankle. The pads are also quite rigid.
