There are plenty of places in Zion with no signal, though GPS will work perfectly fine almost everywhere, except for the narrows. This map shows you everything you need to see to visit this park. It features, roads and trails are omitted which can make navigating the back country frustrating without other maps in hand. It could be a good plan B thing to have for any of the serious multi day/week/month adventure hikers out there.
This is the map you need to have in your backpack if you're hiking around the zion area. The coating on them makes them super strong no matter how many times you fold them. The most helpful map is always the tram maps so you know what stop to take for each trail you want to do.

The large scale maps are the most useful for off-trail travel. It has very dark shading that makes reading contour lines more difficult, and its 100' interval simply provides less overall relief information. It includes trail summaries including length, elevation gain, hiking time and difficulty. This is a great resource for your awesome hiking adventure.
This is a fantastic overview of the spectacular Grand Teton National Park backcountry including the Alaska Basin (which is actually National Forest technically outside of GTNP) - probably the only map needed for hiking the trails. These maps are printed on waterproof, tear-resistant paper. It can be used by the off-roader, or the hiker, or even simply as a road map. It's a beautiful-looking map too.

We know from years of feedback from readers, customers and amazon sellers, what most people want in a convenient and appropriate map. The product is exactly that - it's a simple product that hits all the right notes. This is pretty much the only topo map widely available for joshua tree np, and is good enough for a successful trip. It's that plastic type that is tear resistant and water proof. It folds easily as well. It's easy enough to read, though can be a bit large when unfolded. It is easy to find roads and trails that may not be shown in detail in other resources.
This map is much better than what is provided by the national park service. The large scale does not help much in the little narrow canyon climbs, and it is easy to take a wrong turn. Overall, this is pretty much the only topo map widely available for joshua tree np, and is good enough for a successful trip.
Why We Like This:
Very helpful with maximizing time in and around joshua tree national park
Excellent, excellent map for your joshua tree trip
Super helpful for finding those secret little hikes for less crowds
