Compared with other products by Ejwox, the old cider press has a convenient design. It works great and easily crushed 5 gallons of quartered apples, before the bolt holding the handle to the crush sheared off. The grinder teeth are held onto the main drive shaft and secondary drive shaft by two (presumably) 5/32 x 3/4" tension pins. It has gaps to allow oversized items to fall out so you don’t damage the teeth. It grinds apples into a pretty fine pulp as is.
It is made by recyclable heavy duty 304 grade stainless steel, and rugged iron frame and table mount components are all designed for years of use. There is a cotter pin that connects the shaft and the gear. This works out perfectly when placed over a clean 5 gallon bucket. It is suitable for very small fruit.Why We Like This:

It takes awhile to assemble, but it's very basic. It does a good job of removing all the juice from grapes. The press exerts a nice amount of force. The slats are 14 1/2” long so the basket is 14 1/2” tall. It is perfect fit and a heavy duty nylon bag that will last a very long time.

The ejwox fruit press is capable of outshining several other products featured in this list in overall features for the price point. It presses the pulp into a dry pancake of sorts. It will not work with nuts, whole lemons, or other similarly hard foods. It can be used for pressing cheese, and you need to prepare a filter bag first. The strainer insert has a huge hole in the middle so you can't pick it up out of the pot without leaving behind whatever you're pressing. It works fantastic and makes the process so fast and efficient it is amazing.
