Best Overall: Rohrer & Klingner olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

Rohrer & Klingner olive Green Fountain Pen Ink
Buy on Amazon

The rohrer & klingner olive green fountain pen ink is capable of outshining several other ink featured in this list in overall features. It is perfect for summer and it looks gorgeous on cream coloured. It has a wonderful gray-blue color that darkens to a soft blue-black as it dries. The ink writes on the dry side, giving good shading and quick dry time. It is suitable for pens, quills and other calligraphy instruments.

The ink bleeds through smooth, thick, and calligraphy-approved paper. It is easy to use as it dries reasonably fast and flows well. The bottle shape makes it easy to fill your pen, wide opening and stable shape that does not tip over easily. It is a very tasteful shade when dried, but it's not frivolous, flaky, fruity or flighty.

Why We Like This:
  • Beautiful and versatile iron gall ink
  • Dries light with a gold yellow sheen
  • Nice opaque look on white paper and the bottle is large, very good value
  • Beautiful, deep, rich blues with nice shading that range from black to faded denim

Best With Another Ink: Herbin Red Ink

Next on the list, we've got yet another ink that manages to win our hearts. It's the herbin red ink and it's widely considered as one of the best convenient ink you can buy. It's a gorgeous red ink with metallic gold highlights/shading. It doesn't produce a lot of shading and it's a very standard, businesslike blue. The minuscule gold flecks give this ink a secondary shimmer in the light that really make this ink stand out. It looks amazing and makes any work of calligraphy stand out even more. It's also spectacular in a wider italic nib pen.

The ink is a warm brown with slight gold shimmer properties. It has the tiniest amount of gold to it if you look very closely in the right light. It is used for seals in the days.

Why We Like This:
  • Works very well in fountain pens
  • Rubber-coated screw-on cap, not "hand-dipped wax" like some reviewers state
  • Good flow, excellent dark blue, medium cleaning
  • A blood color, very vivid, for a easy and smooth writting

Best For cheap paper: Noodler'S olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

If you need a great bulletproof, water resistant, archival ultra-black ink that will withstand the worst papers, search no further, just get some. It takes on this deep green hue. It glows wonderfully and flows like a dream onto the paper. It comes with fountain pens (or any pen that has a built in inkwell, like the kaweco ink pen for example) and using the wrong ink. It can be layered, for a gradually darker values (almost to black), and the little bit of pooling that's common at the tail end of a stroke will be notably darker than the main lines of the stroke.

This ink dries invisibly on many different kinds of paper, and is detected easily with a regular black light. It is good as most noodler's waterproof inks. It is easy to write with, using a calligraphy pen.

Why We Like This:
  • Nice and dark, and it really doesn't bleed or feather badly at all
  • Flows fairly well, even with thin nibs
  • Glows bright yellow when hit with uv
  • Great ink that glows bright under black light

Best For drawing: Thornton'S luxury goods olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

This ink is a darker red with a tinge of brown so it more aptly fits the name of oxblood. It flows nicely, it's a good dark black. The ink bottle is heavy and very stylish, something that works well on your desk. It is great for a fountain pen, not so good for a glass dip pen.

These dye based inks have low to moderate water resistance, the colors are beautiful and inspiring with great shading characteristics, added lubricity for a smooth flow when putting pen to paper. The ink works to perfection, color green is excellent. It is very free flowing. The ink is a darker red with a tinge of brown so it more aptly fits the name of oxblood.

Why We Like This:
  • A very fluid and vivid ink
  • Writes nice and dries quickly, it does bleed a bit
  • Absolutely wonderful and lovely to utilize this new quality of writing instruments inks
  • Writes on paper and light parchment rather light

Best For spring correspondence: Pilot Beautiful Ink

Pilot Beautiful Ink
Buy on Amazon

We know from years of feedback from readers, customers and amazon sellers, what most people want in a convenient and appropriate ink. The pilot beautiful ink is exactly that - it's a simple ink that hits all the right notes. This "luxury ink" is a beautiful light green (almost like Herbin Vert Pre), but it bleeds and feathers on everything. More importantly the ink flows smoothly through the nib with no blotting or spreading. It perfectly matches the Lime Green Pilot Prera and looks good in a Retro Pop Purple Metropolitan as well. The shade is dark enough to be seen clearly regardless of the lighting, but also very toned down and mellow.

This ink is so light that it's hard to read on a page. It would be good for journal pages for those of you who sketch on them in colored pencil or watercolor. The bottle is a work of art, deserving of the quality ink inside.

Why We Like This:
  • A beautiful ink that contrasts well with other colors
  • Good brand reputation

Best For Calligraphy: Pilot olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

Pilot olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

The pilot olive green fountain pen ink is the best convenient ink on the market today. These inks (and the bottles) are gorgeous, and addictive. It’s a very well-behaved ink. The Forest Green lightens as it dries. It comes in many colors, and it is much cheaper in the long run than to constantly be buying cartridges, which don't come in as many colors, if any besides black and blue.

This is a "wet" ink, with moderate to low shading. There is no shading even when flexing, medium saturation, no water resistance, no sheen. It is washable but does not wash easily off hands. The shading is not so dark using a Fine NIB.

Why We Like This:
  • Good ink that absorbs and dries quickly and looks nice
  • Writes smoothly, the color is unique
  • Dries fast, doesn't smudge and flows very nicely as you'd expect from iroshizuku ink
  • Good "wet" ink for daily writing

Their Black Cherry works really nicely with a medium or broad nib. The ink flows well and has a beautiful color, even after it dries. Best With feather: Noodler'S Ink olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

Noodler'S Ink olive Green Fountain Pen Ink

If you want to put something on paper for eternity (well, as long as the paper survives that is) this is a very good choice of ink. This ink is in the Warden's Series of inks and as such, is listed as bulletproof, eternal, forgery and water resistant. It's dark, dull and feathers a lot. It's a lovely, smooth green ink that's not too bright nor does it have too much yellow. This one is smooth as silk and a nice shade of dark green.

This ink tends to feather a bit when used in a fountain pen, so a dip pen that puts alot of ink down very fast might not be advisable. It's super difficult to clean it.

Why We Like This:
  • Lovely subdued green color, looks very natural
  • One of the new comers and featured product
